Peloton After Dark

So when’s the perfect time to workout? Ideally I’d love to get up at 5AM, workout, meditate, read a daily devotion, journal, have a cup of green tea with a splash of lemon, all before the house gets moving.

That sounds like the “perfect” start to a day but who am I kidding, I am NOT a morning person and I’m learning that things will never be “perfect”. Go figure, I used to get up around 3:30AM so that I could coach at Orangetheory just last year. That was only so that I could have the rest of the day to do what I wanted.

Now I’m lucky if I’m out of the bed before Luna wakes up around 7:30-8. I’ve gotten in to this new routine where its hard for me to get out of the bed in the morning. I also blame Covid because dropping Amiyah off in the mornings to school forced me to get up.

Now if you look back at last week I was up most days and working out by 6AM. I made a decision that I would get up so that I could have some alone time. Again with Covid having alone time is nearly almost impossible.

Fast forward to this week my workouts have become night workouts starting after 9pm hence the title of this post. The crazy thing is I’ve enjoyed them! I feel stronger at night compared to dragging myself out of bed struggling to get going.

The most surprising thing is I’m not wired from my evening workouts and I’ve actually slept like a baby. So I shared all this to say, the best time to workout is whatever time works for you, just as long as you get it done! ~Selena
