Me Time

Me Time…what’s that? As a mom sometimes it’s hard to carve out a little “me time” and if you are able to find time for yourself, their may be some guilt that comes along with that time.

Normally when I carve out some time for myself it’s usually me working out. The past two days have been a little different. Yesterday I went to get my hair cut and colored and today I went to get my eyebrows arched.

Since Antavis worked sort of a split shift and came home for a few hours right before I was heading to my appointment, I didn’t rush to get back home. So I decided to not only get my eyebrows arched, I got a pedicure which was a bonus!

Today was one of those days where I realized that I needed the time to myself and I didn’t feel guilty about it. Antavis and I are leaving Friday for a little anniversary getaway, in which we haven’t been away from the girls for more than 24 hours, so that’s why all the grooming is taking place. I will say that on the way home it hit me that we are leaving for 4 days so I did get a little sad thinking about that, but I realize its a much needed recharge!

An added bonus when I got home was, Antavis had ran out to get groceries and had cooked dinner and made us some green juice, all while the girls were outside in the back yard in the inflatable swimming pool. He even cleaned the dishes! We don’t always get the opportunity to all sit down at the dinner table and eat together but we’ve been doing it more lately. Today was one of those rare gems.

Today’s parting words, find a man that looks at you the way Antavis looks at dessert!! 😂 ~Selena
